Our policy towards sponsorship

What our sponsors get from us:

We will put your name and logo on our sponsors page, and link to any journalism you have been associated with.

We will also put a short paragraph about you on the sponsors page and link to your website from ours.

You will also be invited to attend any wpradio.co.uk events in Westminster and if appropriate to offer a suitable speaker.

Who our sponsors are:

Visit the ERS websiteElectoral Reform Society – for sponsored journalism on the website.

The ERS is campaigning to change the way we choose our politicians. It believes that a fair voting system will improve our democracy and allow politicians to better represent us. It says fairness, accountability and real choice should not be compromised. www.electoral-reform.org.uk will tell you more.

Our funding policy:

Women’s Parliamentary Radio does not hold views of its own. It conforms to the normal conventions of broadcast journalism working across party to report debate and discussion on key policy issues. Support of Women’s Parliamentary Radio does not constitute a donation to a political party under the terms of PPERA.

WP Radio.co.uk welcomes and is grateful for financial and other support for its work from external organisations and from individuals. External organisations may include private sector businesses, public enterprises, trade unions, non-governmental organisations and charitable trusts, among others. Forms of support may include sponsorship of journalism, publications and events (conferences, seminars, lectures, receptions, etc), and financial and other resources provided for other activities.

Wpradio.co.uk insists on the retention of complete editorial control over its work, and does not allow funders to decide the content either of reports, publications or of conferences, seminars and other events. We will be happy to receive helpful suggestions, but the final editorial decisions always rest with us.

Wpradio.co.uk is an independent broadcaster whose aim is to promote impartial journalism. We may therefore refuse sponsorship from sources whose involvement, may suggest to outside observers that the debate we are promoting has been influenced by particular vested interests. We recognise that financial supporters will usually be involved in the relevant field of work.

The wpradio.co.uk Board is ultimately responsible for the interpretation and implementation of this policy. We hope that funders and potential funders of our work will understand the reasons for these guidelines and will work within them in partnership with us.
